A textured work never quite settles into a single image. In direct light, its edges become precise. In softer light, those same edges retreat and the surface feels more continuous.
This movement is part of the work. A ridge that seems almost invisible in the morning may become its strongest line by late afternoon. The room participates in what we see.
When choosing a place for a textured piece, spend a little time noticing the light already there. Where does it enter? Does it fall from the side, or meet the wall straight on? There is no single correct answer, only different conversations.
Art can become familiar without becoming fixed. Sometimes all it takes to find something new is to return at a different hour.
